the corporate environmentalist
Whether you love or hate bottled water, do you think the companies that produce it should be environmentally and socially responsible? Wouldn’t you like your company’s Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility program to generate a positive return on investment? And if you worked for one of the Big Three automotive companies, wouldn’t you prefer to create a competitive advantage in environmentally-friendly vehicles over the other two?
Climate change, social impacts, and the shifting role of business: these topics appear frequently in the news. Yet when I read these stories, I often see missed opportunities to connect the dots and provide context relevant to the Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility world - context that makes the difference between same-ness and competitive differentiation; environmental and social programs that throw money away, and those that generate revenue.
I blog about these kinds of news stories, as well as conferences and meetings I’ve attended, while adding insight from what I’ve learned from my experience in the field. I’d love to hear from you if you have comments or topical suggestions for future posts.
